Making It / Found Metal Artifact Lamp Number 59 / Michael Smith / Milwaukee, WI
I love using ‘found’ objects. I don’t know what these pieces of metal were intended for, but they were in a large recycling bin, so that’s just what I did! I’ve mounted this on a beautiful Leopardwood base. https://www.etsy.com/listing/126838466/found-metal-artifact-lamp-number-59

Making It / Found Metal Artifact Sculpture With Light Number 53 / Michael Smith / Milwaukee WI
I went to my local auto repair shop and asked my friend, the manager, what old parts he had for me. He just pointed out the back door, and told me to take what I wanted. This part, he told … Continue reading →

This is another in my series of found object sculptures with a vintage style light bulb. This was originally part of a bottle capper tool. I’ve mounted it on a beautiful block of hardwood. This lamp measures 7″w x 6″d … Continue reading →

I love this pieces of rusted raw metal and decided to show it off by mounting it on this block of hardwood. I’ve used a dimmer light socket so the bulb can be as bright or dim as you like. … Continue reading →

DASCHUND Found Object Sculpture With Light / Mike Smith / Milwaukee, WI
Our 17 year old dog died this past year, and I’m still deciding about getting another one. I created this sculpture as a sort of replacement in the mean time. It measures 16″w x 7″d x 8″h. The vintage style … Continue reading →
